Alta Motors Competes for the Podium at the Erzberg Rodeo—the Most Challenging One-Day Motorcycle Race in the World

Alta Factory Racing team riders, Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt, will make history as they pilot the first electric motorcycles ever to compete for the podium at the off-road event

Redshift1.jpg

San Francisco, CA, May 8, 2018 – Alta Motors, the leader in performance electric motorcycles, will make two-wheel history as the first electric motorcycle factory race team to compete for the podium at the Erzberg Rodeo. Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt will ride the next generation of Alta’s popular off-road Redshift to compete against gas- bike competitors. By entering the Erzberg Rodeo, Alta continues to prove that its electric motorcycles are capable of competing at the highest level.

Part of the Red Bull Hard Enduro Series, Erzberg Rodeo is a 35 km race in the mountains of Austria where riders attempt to summit steep hillclimbs and daunting obstacles such as rock beds, boulder fields, and slick, wooded sections. Over 2,000 riders attempt to qualify for 500 starting slots in the main event. Only a small handful go on to finish the race within the four-hour time limit. In 2017, only 25 riders completed the race, and in 2016, only 9.

Erzberg will be Ty’s first time tackling Erzberg, but his experience as a two-time X Games Finals competitor signals he will be a force to be reckoned with on the “Iron Mountain.”

“Having the opportunity to make history by riding the first electric is an honor,” commented Ty Tremaine. “After the past few months racing the Redshift, I am confident it will give me my best shot at conquering the Iron Mountain.”

Alta Motors also secured Lyndon Poskitt, a professional off-road racer, Dakar rally veteran, and producer of the popular off-road motorcycle travel series, Races to Places, to race the Redshift at Erzberg. His extensive experience as a professional rider and previous participation at Erzberg will make him a serious contender at this year’s race.

“After challenging Erzberg on a rally bike last year, I’m eager to see what I can accomplish on a premium bike that is designed specifically for this environment,” said

Lyndon Poskitt. “Partnering with Alta made sense because they’ve built a bike that delivers the control and power critical for this type of race—it just happens to be electric.”

“We built the Redshift to compete head-to-head with the best gas bikes in the most brutal environments in the world. The Erzberg extreme enduro is the place to demonstrate that,” said Alta Motors Chief Technical Officer and co-founder, Derek Dorresteyn. “The race comes at a time when electric bikes are struggling for acceptance in international competition. We are grateful that the Erzberg organizers share our belief that competition should be about advancing technology—not restricting it—and that they are providing a platform to demonstrate that electrics should have the right to compete.”

MINNEAPOLIS (May 1, 2018) – Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company founded in 1901, and freestyle motocross icon Carey Hart have partnered to take Hart’s Good Ride fund-raising platform overseas to active soldiers based at U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Stuttgart in Germany. On May 20, Good Ride Salutes USAG Stuttgart will honor U.S. military soldiers and the freedom they protect with an Armed Forces Day ride and barbeque celebration. In support of the honorary ride, Indian Motorcycle will donate up to $30,000 to the Infinite Hero Foundation from test rides completed at Indian Motorcycle dealerships during the month of May. In addition, donations to Hart’s Good Ride (a 501C3 charity) can be made at www.goodriderally.com in support of active American troops and veterans.

In partnership with Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Indian Motorcycle and Hart will bring the Good Ride experience to a community of over 20,000 active military and their families.  “I’ve always held an immense sense of respect and gratitude for our troops, and that’s why I’ve made the military, both active and veteran, the focus of Good Ride’s efforts since day one,” said Hart. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to bring Good Ride directly to our active troops overseas.”

In support of Good Ride Salutes USAG Stuttgart, Indian Motorcycle will run a test ride promotion that will raise up to $30,000 for the Infinite Hero Foundation. As the primary beneficiary of Hart’s Good Ride Rally, the Infinite Hero Foundation funds programs that drive innovation and accessibility of effective treatments for military heroes and their families dealing with service-related mental and physical injuries. For every motorcycle test ride completed at an Indian Motorcycle dealership in the month of May, Indian will donate $20 in that rider’s name. Riders can schedule a test ride at a nearby Indian Motorcycle dealership atIndianMotorcycle.com.

“Indian Motorcycle’s commitment to the American military dates back to the first World War, and it’s something that will forever be a part of our brand DNA,” said Steve Menneto, President, Indian Motorcycle Company. “It’s both an honor and a privilege to bring a little piece of home overseas to these brave men and women with this special Good Ride event and Armed Forces Day celebration.”

To further the Armed Forces Day celebration, Indian Motorcycle dealerships around the U.S. and Canada will host honorary military events on May 19. Many dealerships will offer food, drinks, and giveaways, including an Indian-branded multi-tool.

Introducing REAX Moto Apparel

REAX MOTO APPAREL OFFERS RIDERS A SUBTLE, STYLISH APPROACH TO PERFORMANCE & PROTECTION

From the Parent Company of RevZilla and Cycle Gear Comes a New Brand Focused on Premium Function and Thoughtful Form

PHILADELPHIA, April 18, 2018 – After a decade of experience interacting with riders and reviewing product, RevZilla has partnered with its parent company, COMOTO to bring to life REAX, a new apparel brand focused on thoughtful design features, within a casual, refined aesthetic that riders will appreciate.

REAX__130321.jpg

The new line, comprised of riding jackets, pants and gloves, is grounded in the belief that premium motorcycle performance and protection apparel, need not look overly technical or excessive. Instead, REAX features a wide variety of thoughtfully engineered features and benefits, virtually hidden within the apparel’s more understated design aesthetic. The full line is now available at revzilla.com, cyclegear.com and all Cycle Gear store locations nationwide.

“Our aim was to deliver designs that weren’t overtly technical, but instead, subtly revealed performance features in a manner that was more thoughtful and purposeful,” said Roger Sgarbossa, Vice President, Product Development for COMOTO. “More often than not, truly sophisticated technology comes at a price point that’s unrealistic for many riders. With REAX we wanted to bring those same technologies to a wider range of riders.”

REAX__130851-2.jpg
_05A1090.jpg

The initial line from REAX was designed to address quintessential rider styles, from the timeless style of the Folsom classic leather jacket to the more casual on-or-off-the-bike versatility of the Ludlow textile hoodie, or 215 protective riding jeans. The line also addresses weather-intensive riding conditions with the Ridge multi-season jacket, pants and waterproof gauntlet gloves, as well as high-performance scenarios with the Alta mesh jacket and pants, Jackson sport leather jacket and Castor sport leather gloves.

REAX offers all the critical performance and protective features riders expect, including reinforced or double-layer impact and abrasion areas, fine-tuned and adjustable ergonomic rider fits, water proof device pockets and integrated reflective elements. But the line is most characterized by the subtle incorporation of thoughtful and purposeful design features, such as a hidden magnet located on the back of the Ludlow Jacket that keeps the hood from flapping on the road, or offering three different knee pad positions within pant designs — all without Velcro so there’s no scratch.

REAX__130776.jpg

A sharp understanding of the needs and preferences of riders, after more than a decade of ongoing interaction their customers, is what motivated COMOTO to develop its own private label with REAX. The vision for the line was grounded in developing gear that would appeal to the widest range of riders, offering the specific features and benefits they need without anything superfluous.

“We are product geeks and after all the years of ongoing interaction with our customers, it made sense to take that knowledge and perspective and pour it into something of our own,” said Matt Kull, CEO of COMOTO and RevZilla co-founder. “Rider preferences are incredibly diverse, and nothing is for everyone. That said, we’re excited by what we’re delivering with REAX and hope it will resonate with the riding community.”

To see the full line of REAX riding apparel, visit www.reaxmoto.com, www.revzilla.com, www.cyclegear.com , or your nearest Cycle Gear location.

Fontenelle Supply Co.

Supplies for the Modern Frontier

fontenellesupplyco.com

Fontenelle Supply Co. is an idea originally born out of necessity.

It’s foundation was built on tradition.

It started in a basement in Omaha Nebraska. Adam, Andrew, Asher, and I would spend every Tuesday night drinking cheap beer and playing pool. We would sit around and discuss the hobbies that we had been tinkering around with. Every week someone would have a new idea or project. We would plan our entire week around what would come to be known as “Bro night”.

One hobby that we all latched on to quickly was vintage axe restoration. We all consider ourselves outdoorsmen and having a quality axe that is well maintained was something that resonated with us. We needed tools that we could count on.

We only used time honored, traditional techniques to restore our axes. Rasping and reshaping the hickory handles by hand, using files and sharpening stones for the blades to insure that no temper was lost, and eventually making hand stitched leather sheaths.Over the next year and a half we created a line of leather goods including wallets, belts, key fobs, and notebook covers. As with everything else we have done, the leather work is done by hand with the finest tools and materials to ensure durability. We are willing to put the time, effort, and work into making something that will last a lifetime or two.

In the fall of 2016, we opened our first brick and mortar retail store in Des Moines Iowa. Along with the leather goods and restored axes we also sell menswear  products from various companies that we have used and loved for years. Everything from Filson Waxed Canvas Jackets to Freenote Raw Denim.

We have personally tested every product we sell thoroughly. Whether its a 3000 mile motorcycle trip, a week long camping out, or everyday wear and tear, we made sure the products we sell can hold up to an adventurous  lifestyle
